Product Description
MEINL Percussion Darbukas are built in the style of the ancient, mystical goblet-shaped drums found in Eastern European, Middle Eastern, and Southern Asian music. Percussion by MEINL Darbukas are created in the style of the original, mystical goblet-shaped drums used in Eastern European, Middle Eastern, and Southern Asian music. Our darbukas are made from thin shells of various metals, with each metal imparting a distinct timbre to the various variants. The head is fixed and tuned in the Turkish style with exterior rings set near to the shell. The darbukas produce a deep rich bass that is light yet strong. They're great for high-pitched snapping sounds and a variety of articulated "doum" and "tak" strokes.
