Perpetual Motion

Perpetual Motion by Dame Evelyn Glennie. Arranged for Marimba, for 4 mallets, in digital sheet music format.
The round and round, back and forth between right and left hands give this piece a dizzying feel of perpetual motion. It should remain at the same spirited dynamic and speed throughout, with both hands giving each note the same strength and duration. Take care – this piece is a little tongue-twister!
Originally from the Faber Music publication Perpetual Motion, a collection of 10 evocative pieces written for young pianists to explore and enjoy, these pieces have been transcribed for marimba or vibraphone by Dame Evelyn Glennie with the intention of concentrating on musicality:
'Each piece was conceived to focus on a particular technical challenge thus helping to develop your mallet prowess, but I also see them as little sound stories. These ‘stories’ can be developed in any way you wish by allowing your imagination and curiosity to take you on a journey of discovery!'
