This atmospheric work for mixed voices is a contemporary reflection on Benjamin Britten’s ‘The Cuckoo’, the third song in his well-loved Friday Afternoons set. Commissioned by the London Youth Choir, ‘Swallows’ was first performed by the choir on 22 November 2013 – the centenary of Britten’s birth.
