Product Description

It seems like you’re describing the TELEFUNKEN U47 microphone, which is a legendary and iconic microphone known for its exceptional sound quality and historical significance in the world of recording and music production. The U47 has been a staple in recording studios for decades and is often considered one of the finest microphones ever produced. The U47 is praised for its authoritative mid-range and extended low-end response. It is known for delivering a rich and vibrant tone that is suitable for various applications, ranging from recording symphonies to modern music genres. Its sound quality is compared to the experience of appreciating a fine vintage wine. The original U47, developed in 1946, was groundbreaking for introducing selectable polar patterns (cardioid and omnidirectional) and featuring the M7 capsule, developed by Georg Neumann in 1928. The microphone utilized military surplus VF14 tubes for its amplifier and BV8 output transformers, resulting in a sonic quality that was superior to the ribbon microphones of the time. The amplifier of the U47 was built using VF14 tubes, which were originally designed for field and aircraft radios. These tubes contributed significantly to the microphone’s unique and exceptional sound quality. In the modern recreation, a newly developed VF14k vacuum tube is used as a replacement for the rare VF14M tubes found in the original U47.
